A beautiful city, easily navigable by foot and by Uber, it is situated in the heart of the land of Agave. Guadalajara is located in the western state of Jalisco and is the second largest city in Mexico. While it is the second largest city, it doesn’t feel that way once you are walking around. You’ll encounter neoclassical architecture, famous murals by painter Jose Clemente Orozco as well as others that are unknown, but equally as impressive and ornate colonial plazas. The famous Avenida Chapultepec is dotted with restaurants, bars, and shops and it’s easy to get lost walking down the winding park that runs between both sides. It’s a popular spot in the evenings when the park is filled with families walking, dancers, beatboxers, skateboarders, bicyclists, and artisans selling their crafts.
Guadalajara
Eat your heart out!

On specific Tuesday’s of each month there is the famous and most raucous sporting event called the Lucha Libre at the Arena Coliseo. It is an event not to miss if you’re in town for one of the fights. Since the late 1800’s this sport, literally translated to free-style wrestling, has grown to be the second most popular in Mexico, second only to soccer. Depicted by bright colorful masks, large and flamboyant personalities; the Luchadores are certain to entertain and keep you on the edge of your seat. Each fight is a battle of drop kicks, leg locks, and backflips between the técnicos, ‘good guys,’ and the rudos, the ‘bad guys.’ The sacred mascara, colorful mask, is the heart of the Luchadores secret identity and a loss requires him to remove it to reveal his identity.
